Miryam's
House
Miryam’s House was founded in 2014 with the support and influence of Rafi Toledano.
Rafi Toledano is the founder and president of Brookhill Properties, a NYC real estate investment firm, specializing in multi-family units. He has been an avid supporter of Project Extreme since 2012 and is a part of a network of individuals who annually provide support to the organization. Over the past 10 years, Rafi Toledano has continued his support, chiefly becoming the founder and investor in Miryam’s House, a program of PE that empowers at-risk teenage girls to safely live in a dedicated home in Brooklyn.
There is a unique purpose to Mr. Toledano’s involvement in Project Extreme. After someone Rafi deeply cared about went through the program, Rafi found himself intrigued to learn more about the organization, and together with Rabbi Weinberg, began conversations in 2013 to start Miryam’s House, which was established in 2014. Today, girls go through the program each year, living together in the organization’s single-family house in Brooklyn, New York. In the TRI-state area, Project Extreme is one of its kind in providing mentorship and practical support to at-risk teens within the broader Jewish community.
Because Project Extreme specifically supports young teens who have come from Jewish communities and the Jewish faith, PE is a stronghold to its beneficiaries in providing a culturally comfortable safe haven, while also helping teens transition into careers and the corporate world. Parents within the Jewish community are grateful to have a safe and warm transitional-living option through PE, rather than sending their children to in-patient care clinics. Rafi Toledano and Rabbi Weinberg are in conversations about a second home in New Jersey that PE desires to build, dedicated to teenage boys. The house will hopefully open in late 2022 or early 2023.
