A loving alternative home for young, Jewish women
who are seeking safety and support.
A loving transitional living shelter for Jewish young women who have suffered trauma and abuse.
Located in Brooklyn, NY, Miryam’s House was established in 2014 as an additional extension of Project Extreme and as an opportunity for homeless women who are 18 years and older to have a safe place to live and receive help. More than a shelter for homeless women, Miryam’s House offers a growth-oriented home for those seeking transitional housing, additional encouragement, transitional services, life skills support, and healthy communication skills.
The women’s home is located in a residential neighborhood in NY, close to major transportation and shopping. Residents are required to hold a full-time schedule of work, school, or a combination of both as well as commit to weekly therapy meetings and household chores. Housing guidelines include Shabbos observance and strict adherence to Kosher dietary laws. Learn more about the history of Miryam’s House.
